Description

Request by IHE-PCD RTM to add "Wood units"

Wood units, aka "hybrid reference units" (HRU), are used by pediatric cardiologists to express vascular resistance. It is a ratio of a pressure difference to the cardiac output, where the pressures are measured in units of millimetres of mercury (mm[Hg]) and the cardiac output is measured in units of litres per minute (L/min).

1 "Wood unit" = 1 mm[Hg]/L/min

Suggest to use "[wood'U]" as a code. This definition would be formally in line with other legacy units of the form "PersonName? Unit".

  • owner set to gschadow
  • status changed from new to assigned
  • milestone set to Revision 1.8

Fair enough.

The definition of course was written wrong, it is:

1 mm[Hg].min/L
